It is incredible to watch teenagers fall in love, seeing the mounting infatuation and shy progress of smiles, the way they become so painfully hyper-aware of each others presence.
Everything is new and they jump in headfirst, full tilt. They haven’t yet experienced the hard lessons of heartbreak or betrayal, they don’t yet know enough to be cautious.
It’s one of the best parts of my job, one of the little things helping tip the scales when the weight of the big things seem too much to bear.
