Have you been wondering which songs I’ve been belting out in the car lately? What I’ve been swaying my hips to while doing the dishes, up to my elbows in sudsy water?
No? You haven’t? Weird.
Well….I’m just going to just go ahead and share them anyway.
I’ve been playing these five on repeat lately – turn up your speakers and feast your ears. I hope you love them as much as I do. (Even the super cheesy terrible pop songs. I’m sorry – I can’t say no. They’re horrible and I love them)
(some mature themes/language)
[It goes without saying that Beyonce does not qualify as trashy pop. Beyonce is everything. Also, if you’re like me and you love researching the significance of songs – this is a great read on Formation. Aaaaand if you didn’t get goosebumps when the little boy in the hoodie breaks it down in front of the police in riot gear, followed by a quick pan to graffiti reading “stop shooting us”, you have no soul.]
Giant black underwear never looked so good. Every time I watch a Selena Gomez video (which is…lots. I told you, it’s a problem.) I want to revisit bangs. I had them back in the day – they looked like this sometimes
But mostly they looked like nothing because I have a wicked cowlick and styling them took forever. In conclusion Selena Gomez receives an A+ for making high waisted underwear sexy, but an F for making me want to cut my own hair every time I see her.
I love Matthew Good, so there’s pretty much always a Matt Good song featuring in the rotation somewhere. I have always loved Matthew Good and I probably always will love him. The lyrics, the music. He’s just my all-time favourite.
Beautiful. Perfect driving music. Is it paradise? Only if it blows your mind…
It took me a while to like FKA Twigs. Her music is strange and somehow a bit off putting at first, but the more I listen to it, the more I love it.
Now, show me yours?

You know that thing where your brain is so consumed with certain data that you dream about it all night? In college I’d dream all night about the test material. Later, in an office job, I’d dream about the spreadsheets I had been working on. Anyway, the other night the Formation song and video jumped around my head all night. Entertaining but not very restful…
I love that Beyonce took over your stress dreams. She is IMPORTANT.
