Snow Day Round II

It’s -18! We’re outside! We touched snow! No tears! I HAVE CONQUERED WINTER!

We even went on a hike through the river valley this morning with my brother, sister-in-law and their dog Frank. It was a winter wonderland and we all emerged rosy-cheeked and only a little bit frozen.

Way to go Olive! Every time we leave the comforts of a west coast winter to visit family in Edmonton I behave a little more like Olive when you attempted to take her to the library! Luckily our daughter Madeline is too young (4.5 months) to care as long as she is in the carrier.

Don’t you feel so ridiculous and ill-equipped coming from the West Coast to AB? I never realized before how purely decorative all my clothing is – I’m like, oh, I have thin mittens and boots with zero traction/warmth and here why don’t I just wrap this thin cotton scarf around my neck, that’ll help!
Definitely glad Olive was a bit more enthused this time – yay for winter babies!

P.S. It delights me to no end that you have a Madeline! How many sets of Ludwig Bemelman books did you get when she was born? 😉 I think I ended up with three, even despite the difference in spelling!

Very ill equipped! I purchased a new jacket prior to our trip just so I wouldn’t freeze while we were there.

We receive three books as well! At one point we had four because my husband purchased one as well. If there wasn’t a loving note written in the book and we had the receipt the spare copies were return 🙂

There are many Madelines in my family most as a middle name and all named after my great grandmother. Only one person spelled it the same as your parents did. When I read your name I always have a French accent 😉

Props to Olive, I don’t think I’D be going outside in -18C!
