365 days ago we met our daughter. We reverentially touched her skin and held her hand, we listened to her sleep – making little squeaks as she exhaled, like an old screen door.
12 months ago we named her, and immediately loved her, fiercer than we’d ever known how.
One year ago I had a dark haired newborn sleeping on my chest; last night a little blonde chatterbox sat beside me at the table, eating off chopsticks and signing “More” in between bites.
This girl is the best thing we’ve ever done, the best decision we’ve ever made.
She is such a fierce, strong, powerful little person and she takes my breath away, every single day.
One year.
Happy, happy birthday, Olive Grace.

Happy Birthday to Livvie and congratulations to YOU for maintaining a thoughtful and interesting blog while balancing the braincrushing demands of new motherhood.
Unrelated – how do you feel about everlane’s sizing? i have had a full shopping cart with them for about a year now but am worried my mom size 8 won’t be nearly the same as their hipster size 8.
Thank you, Valerie!
